SMYRNA - Southbound 13 is reopen this morning after being closed for several hours as Delaware State Police investigated a fatal crash south of Smyrna involving a pedestrian on U.S. 13 southbound and Holly Hill Drive that occurred around 1:05 a.m.

Preliminary investigation indicates the crash involved one vehicle and a pedestrian. The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has assumed the investigation, according to a State Police press release.
U.S. 13 southbound was closed at Carter Road and southbound traffic was diverted onto Del. 1.  Tolls at Exit 104 were waived.  Police reopened U.S. 13 by 7 a.m. but continue to investigate the crash.
