LINCOLN, Ala. - Oliver Byard Reed Sr. of Lincoln, formerly of Leipsic, Del., died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, in Alabama. He was 67.
Mr. Reed was born Oct. 9, 1939, in Goldsboro, Md., to the late James Byard and Lucy Lillian (Corbin) Reed.
Mr. Reed was a truck driver and started with Jackie Spencer for Spencer Mills, trucking bulk milk. After that he started his own trucking business and drove over the road.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister, Arthur Reed and Pauline Clump; and a half brother, James Read.
He is survived by four sons, Oliver Reed Jr. of Smyrna, Del., Dale Reed of Lincoln, Richard Reed and LeRoy Reed, both of Camden, Del.; four daughters, Diane Braune of Denver, Colo., Ernestine Sell of Branchford, Oklahoma, Alberta Borchers of Felton, Del., and Nancy Sweetman of Elkton, Md.; three brothers, Donald Reed and Roy Reed, both of Nederland, Texas, and Frank Reed of Lincoln; one sister, Evelyn Ellis of Nederland; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his best friend, James Waite of Dover, Del.; and his ex-wife, Alberta Morgan of Magnolia, Del.
Memorial services will be private.
