
DOVER - Norman L. Voshell, formerly of Smyrna, passed away at Kent General Hospital in Dover on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013. Mr. Voshell was born Sept. 10, 1928 in Millington, Md., the son of the late Leonard and Minnie Voshell. He served his country with honors in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Voshell returned to work for International Latex Company in Dover after his military service. Then he delivered oil for Southern States for many years. He eventually retired from the Smyrna School District. Norman enjoyed watching his ball games and sports of all kinds. He loved gardening in his vegetable and flower gardens. He was especially fond of his roses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine; his son, Alan W. Voshell, Sr. and his wife, Linda of Dover; his daughter, Kathleen S. Moore and her husband, Michael of Little Creek; four grandchildren, Alan, Jr. and his wife Brynn, Steven and his wife Christine, Catherine, and Michael, Jr.; and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, William and Clifton; sister, Charlotte; and a dear family friend, Michaela Shane. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at noon.
