Dunkelberger, 80 GEORGETOWN - Norma Marie King Dunkelberger passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her home in Pensacola, Fla. Norma, originally from Georgetown, Del., was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Estella (Stella) King; as well as her brother, Nelson King. Norma was crowned Miss Georgetown 1954. While working as a telephone operator, Norma received a commendation for dispatching police while advising a female caller what to do as someone tried to break into her home. However, she found her greatest joy in life being a sister, wife, mom, grandma and aunt. Norma was vibrant, fun loving, loved life and enjoyed her family and friends immensely. Norma is survived by her husband, Albert Dunkelberger; son, Paul (Debbie); and granddaughter, Taylor Marie, all of Pensacola; sisters, Doris Passwaters and Eleanor Johnson, both of Georgetown; numerous nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews as well as great-grand nieces and nephews in Delaware, Maryland, Florida, South Carolina, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Norma was "Aunt Nornie" to many and the epitome of what it means to be an aunt. She loved us like a parent but treated us like a friend. She is forever in our hearts. Funeral arrangements will be at the family's convenience. Interment will be at the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
