NEW CASTLE — A New Castle woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder by abuse and other offenses connected to her time spent working at a day care facility, the Delaware Department of Justice announced Tuesday.
Dejoynay Ferguson also pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree child abuse and two counts of second-degree child abuse, the DOJ said. She was indicted by a grand jury in July following an investigation by the DOJ and the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, authorities said.
Ferguson will be sentenced by a Superior Court judge at a date to be determined and faces 27 years to life in prison.
