New bail set in  Georgetown rape case

GEORGETOWN — Delaware State Police said an emergency bond hearing on Thursday set a new bail amount for 22-year-old Clay Conaway, charged with first-degree rape and six counts of second-degree rape.

With six additional rape counts, Mr. Conaway received an additional $240,000 secured bond on top of the original $70,000 secured bond and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown and ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims or their families, authorities said.

DSP asked anyone with information to any possible additional criminal incidents involving the defendant to contact Troop 4 Major Crimes Unit Detective D. Kristunas at 752-3856.
