Naomi Alfreda Coverdale, 79 GEORGETOWN - Naomi Alfreda Coverdale, of S. King Street, went home to rest safely in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Christiana Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery Coverdale and Clara (Harmon) Coverdale of Georgetown. Ms. Coverdale was a lifelong resident of Georgetown. She could often be seen sitting on the porch of her home waving at passersby and post office visitors. She worked throughout her early years as a domestic engineer. She retired from the State of Delaware, where she was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Stockley Center for over 27 years. Her primary occupation was taking care of her family. Ms. Coverdale would go above and beyond to make sure her family was comfortable, safe and most of all, fed. She will be missed, but we find peace in knowing she will rejoice in seeing her mother, father, friends, and other loved ones who have gone on before her. Ms. Coverdale leaves to cherish her memories one son, Larry (Betty) Coverdale of Georgetown; one daughter, Gail Coverdale of Seaford; one brother, Freeman Coverdale of Georgetown; five grandchildren NaTascha Hughes, Rhondalin (Donnie) Wise and Kimberly Cannon, all of Seaford, and Brandon Gibbs and Daramius Gibbs, both of Georgetown; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Goodill and the entire staff at Christina MICU Unit. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, in the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 219 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Millsboro.
