FEDERALSBURG - Nancy M. Prouse , 85, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at William Hill Manor in Easton.
She was born Oct. 3, 1922 in Chester, Pa., the daughter of the late Dufferin and Katherine Kingan McConnell. Her husband, William Donald Prouse preceded her in death.
She worked at the original Federalsburg High School as secretary for over 20 years with the 1961 School Year Book being dedicated to her service. She continued working as secretary for the Caroline Board of Education retiring after 25years of service. She was a member of the Union United Methodist Church and was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Caroline Chapter 62.
She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Prouse and his wife, Catherine, of Federalsburg, and William Prouse and his wife, Annette, of Summerfield, N.C.; two grandchildren, Andrew Prouse and his wife, Beth, of Salisbury, Suzanne Watson and her husband Pat, of Summerfield, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Lauren Watson, Katie Watson, Will Watson, Adam Prouse, and Hannah Prouse; two step-grandchildren Mike Willoughby and his wife, Heather of Preston, and Dave Willoughby and his wife, Cheryl of Federalsburg; five step-great-grandchildren, Brooke, Chad, Morgan, Matthew and Mitchell Willoughby; three brothers, Robert E. McConnell of Hurlock, James B. McConnell and John Hershey McConnell, both of Federalsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Danese Collins officiating. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimers Association Eastern Shore Chapter, 209C Milford St., Salisbury, MD 21804.
