Nancy D. Davis, 77
CLAYTON - Nancy D. Davis, of Clayton, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, surrounded by family and friends. She was 77.
Mrs. Davis was born July 21, 1930, in Spottswood, Va., to the late James Wood and Nora Argenbight Wood.
She was a devoted homemaker, a former Boy Scout leader/trainer, and a brilliant cake decorator for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Davis; her husband, Marvin T. Davis; and her brother, James Spencer.
She is survived by her nine sons, Hugh T. Davis of Medford, Ore., Ronald E. Davis of Homeworth, Ohio, Laurence C. Davis of Dover, M. Lynn Davis of Paola, Kan., Terry L. Davis and wife Theresa, of Dover, Keith A. Davis of Clayton, Wayne E. "Chip" Davis and wife Maria of Felton, Dale A. Davis of Clayton, and Chris R. Davis of Clayton; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Elmer "Lucky" Wood of Smyrna; and a sister, Sarah "Joan" Gardner of Clayton.
She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be 5:30 p.m. Friday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call from 4-6 p.m.
Interment will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
