Here’s Tolley: Professor goes from Carson to Delaware State University

Almost 40 years later, Delaware State University music professor Dr. David L. Tolley still can’t believe it.
It was Dec. 19, 1985, when he was plucked out of the audience of “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson” and played piano for an estimated 28 million viewers. The performance caused such a stir that he was invited back just a month later to perform again.
