Muriel H. Sanborn

HARTLY - Muriel H. Sanborn passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Muriel was born, Nov. 10, 1930, in Littleton, N.H., to the late Rufus & Electa(Bailey) Young. Muriel and her late husband, Leland, had owned & operated a furniture and upholstery shop and Sandy's Texaco Station, both in Dover, for many years. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church; a member of the Modern Maturity Center and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 1903; all in Dover. Muriel was also a member of the Delaware Veterans Club, where her husband had served as past commander, She enjoyed oil painting and sewing. Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Leland B. Sanborn. She is survived by her three children, Sherry Seeney, with whom she resided, Steven Sanborn and his wife Kristy of Greenwood, and Sonya Field and her husband Lonnie of Clayton; two sisters, Marilyn Lehan of Fla. and Glenna Toney, of N.H.; six grandchildren, Tracy, Michael, Kimberly, Jason and Katie Sanborn and Wesley Field; four great-grandchildren, David, Allyson, Emily & Dylan; and several nieces & nephews. A private burial will take place in the spring in Maple Street Cemetery,Bethlehem, N.H. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
