
Hopkins Hyland, 70 LAUREL - Moezell 'Moe' Hopkins Hyland died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del. Born in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of Mary E. (Watson) Hopkins of Millsboro, DE and the late Curtis D. Hopkins. She was a 1960 graduate of the former William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown. Upon her graduation, she matriculated at Delaware State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Education. She was employed as a Business Education teacher at Indian River High School for thirty one years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church where she served as President of the United Methodist Women and with the food committee as supervisor of the kitchen. She also served on the Board of Directors at the Laurel Public Library. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, Harvey Hyland, Jr. of Laurel; two sons, Harvey W. Hyland III (Wendy) and Michael (Elisa) Hyland; one daughter, Andrea Hyland; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, John, Robert (Evelyn), Nathaniel (Edie) Hopkins; five sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Daniel and Samuel R. Hopkins preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at United Deliverance Bible Center, West 7th Street, Laurel, DE. Interment will be in the Delaware Memorial Veteran's Cemetery in Millsboro. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m at New Zion United Methodist Church, West 6th Street and on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at United Deliverance Bible Center, one hour prior to service. Services entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
