MILTON — The Milton Chamber of Commerce is organizing a National Women’s Small Business Month dinner at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at Zava Café and Restaurant.

The cost is $40 and includes a three-course dinner and a glass of wine.

Karen Falk, executive director of the Milton Chamber of Commerce, “National Women’s Small Business month was established by the US Small Business Administration to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women business owners. We have so many women business owners right here in our Milton and Harbeson region, and this evening provides the opportunity to gather, introduce each other, and celebrate achievements.”

Lorri H. Grayson, partner and founder of GGA Construction with offices in Middletown, Rehoboth Beach and Milton, will be the speaker.

After 20 years of success in a male-dominated industry, she co-founded GGA in 2010 and contributed to its expansion. Since founding the business, she has led her firm to specialize in institutional, hospitality, medical and corporate office, mixed-use, and multi-family housing projects.

Ms. Grayson believes that mentoring the next generation of women leaders is a top priority. She displays her commitment to diversity and inclusion by actively participating in the Women’s Presidents Organization, Delaware Real Estate Women, American Society of Civil Engineers, Delaware Association of Professional Engineers, National Association of Women in Construction, and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

In 2015, after more than 38 years since the inception of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Delaware, Ms. Grayson was named the first female Chair of the Board of Directors.  Currently, she serves as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Vice Chair representing local chapters in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia as part of the ABC National Executive Committee.

Ms. Grayson is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in Delaware and a LEED Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council.
