Millie T. Jiles Whitham

Millie T. Jiles Whitham, 82

DOVER - Millie T. Jiles Whitham of Dover, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at her home with family. She was 82.

She was born on March 5, 1925, in Champaign, Ill. to the late John and Catherine Bullock Jiles.

Millie worked in downtown Dover at Sun Ray Drug Store from 1954-1957.

She worked at Mr. Donut for 14 years.

Millie was known for her kind heart toward people and enjoyed playing ball with her kids.

She was a Eagles and NASCAR fan, and Jeff Gordon and Davey Allison were her favorite drivers.

Millie enjoyed bingo and card games.

She enjoyed the Christmas holiday season.

Millie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Herbert M. Whitham in 1996; son Larry Whitham in 1952; grandson, Gregory Whitham in 1988; brothers, Roy Jiles in 1984, Richard Jiles in 1992; and sisters, Oral Kuehl in 2004 and Edna Radigan in 2005.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Leroy and Bobbi Whitham; son and his wife, Terry and Becky Whitham; son, Barry Whitham; son, Mark Whitham; daughter and her husband, Linda and Timothy McGlothlin; former daughter-in-law, Yvonne Biddle-Whitham-Kenton, all of Dover; granddaughter, Crystal Bankes Campfield; granddaughter, Heidi Bankes Foraker; grandson, Michael Bankes; grandson, Brett Whitham; granddaughter, Hannah Whitham, whom she treasured because of their shared birthdays; granddaughter, Shenna Oliver; grandson, Timothy McGlothlin; and seven great-grand children.

Services and burial will be 10 a.m. Friday in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice, 911 Lotus Plaza, Dover, DE 19901.
