FREDERICA - As she ascended to Heaven, Faye received her wings, on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 with her family by her side, at the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. She was born to the late James and Betty Beebe. Mrs. Andrew owned Faye's Decorated Cakes for over seven years. Her special achievement was a 17 foot long "Shoo Shoo Baby cake", a rebuilt airplane restoration cake for the celebration at Dover Air Force Base, prior to it's flight to Air Force Museum. She was featured in several newspapers. In her later years, she was a shipping clerk for over 10 years at Green Brier Inc. Her best friend of 35 years was Kay Bird. They had amazing shopping trips to Vanity Fair, going twice a year, and went to Bingo every Sunday night since 1978. They shared a special friendship that was second to none. Faye devoted her life around her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was always available to lend a helping hand. She spent a considerable amount of time caring for Triston, a special needs grandson, and her most recent grandson, Derek. Her undying love for her family and sacrifices will always be cherished and remembered and she will be sadly missed. Faye was a member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation as a committee member, who helped raise funds for wildlife land preservation. She was preceded in death by sister, Betty Jo Schauber. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Edwin G. Andrew of Frederica; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn C. Watkins of Milburn, Okla., Angela N. Andrew-Webb of Frederica, Tammy L. (Marcos) Quiroz of Frederica, and Dee (Robert) Papilla of Hartly; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Dickie Miller of Milford; grandchildren, Adell Phillips, Triston Andrew-Webb, Derek J. Andrew-Dubovick, Andrew Quiroz, Anthony Quiroz, Tanya Cutright, Jeffrey Cutright, and Steven Cutright. Visitation for family and friends will start at 6 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m., Oct. 24, 2013 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Trustees of University of PA, Office of the Treasurer, PO Box 70259, Philadelphia, PA, 19176-9885, for the Mildred Faye Andrew Lung Cancer Research. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, visit our website at www.melvinfuneralhome.com for further information, leave a letter of condolence, or to send flowers.
