MIDDLETOWN — The core values of the US Air Force, “Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do,” are the same values that the cadets in Middletown High’s AFJROTC program strive to live up to.

In December, the unit’s hard work was honored with the highest assessment attainable, “Exceeds Standards” which places them in the Top 1% of cadets nationwide. “Receiving an ‘Exceeds Standards’ rating reflects all the hard work and dedication this family of cadets puts into the corps day in and day out,” Lt. Col. (retired) Scott D. Boehne said. “It accurately represents their leadership, integrity, discipline and commitment to the corps.”

In his review, US Air Force Representative Chief Master Sgt. (retired) Bruce Kenney noted that Middletown High leaders have “created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with excellent community outreach. The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program.”
