HEBRON - On Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, Melody Fletcher passed on to be with the Lord after battling a long illness. She was surrounded by family at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born and raised in Cambridge, Melody was well known for her love of children and a big heart. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Cannon. She is survived by her mother, Ellen Cannon; her loving husband of 26 years, Warren Fletcher; five children, sons, Clay Fletcher and his wife Andrea of Hebron and Michael Fletcher and his wife Rachel of Greensboro, daughters, Bibi Cannon of Hebron, Jody Neal and her husband David and Kristi Truitt and her husband Mark both of Salisbury; 13 grandchildren; sister, Taffie Stephens; niece, Brittany Stephens, and many other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Bounds Funeral Home, on East Main St., Salisbury. Rev. Isaacs and Rev. Riddleberger will officiate. Burial will be in Rockawalkin Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Melody's memory to Melson United Methodist Church, 32705 Melson Road, Delmar, MD 21875.
