MIDDLETOWN — Mass For the Homeless presented a donation of $5,000 to Vietnam Veterans of America’s Chapter 83 to fund the completion of Phase II of the Hershel “Woody” Williams Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the Veteran’s Memorial Park, New Castle.

The check was presented to Judy C. Campbell, the chapter’s Gold Star chair, at its Honor and Remember Luncheon on Jan. 15 at The Edge 18, Middletown.

Maestro Wilson Somers was joined by his wife, Joan, who serves as a creative consultant to the organization, as well as MFTH’s board chair Susan Booker and her husband, board member Pete Booker.

The funds were raised at the ensemble performance of “Requiem for 9/11,” the critically acclaimed work by the Emmy Award-winning Mr. Somers, which was presented to an audience of 500 on Sept. 12, 2021, at Wilmington’s St. Helena’s Catholic Church.
