Maryetta Fennemore Carey

TOWNSEND - Maryetta Fennemore Carey passed away Sat., Aug. 3, 2013 surrounded by her family at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Maryetta was a housewife and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially liked to crochet and sew. She also loved to cook big family meals and traveling to different places and then stop for a nice seafood dinner. Maryetta was the daughter of the late J. Wilmer Fennemore and Margaret J. Townsend Fennemore. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles T. Carey; her daughter, Patricia A. Smith; and her two brothers, J. Wilmer Fennemore and Jackson Collins Fennemore. She is survived by her children, Charles Richard Carey and his wife, June, Elaine C. Tomaszewski and companion, David Bachman, and Gene Thomas Carey and wife, Carol; and twelve grandchildren, Vickie, John, Charles, Danielle, Jerry, Sarah, Amanda, Charles Richard, Crystal, Michael, Emily, and Andrew. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by Kay Heinold and her family. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Thurs., Aug. 8, 2013 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 209 W. Main Street, Townsend. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be held privately in the Townsend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Immanuel United Methodist Church, PO Box 60, Townsend, DE 19734-0060.
