Mary Seabrook Brown

DOVER - Mary Seabrook "Marybrook" Brown passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, surrounded by her family at home in Dover. Marybrook was born on Aug. 18, 1950 in Norfolk, Va. She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1968 and received a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware in 1972. Marybrook married her high school sweetheart, H. Cubbage Brown, Jr., on June 5, 1971. During her 25 year nursing career, she worked at Delaware Technical Community College, Kent General Hospital and Nellie H. Stokes Elementary School. Marybrook also worked as a Territory Manager for Weight Watchers from 1997 until 2011. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, enjoyed genealogy, camping, scrapbooking and cooking, and loved to be with her family more than anything. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Seabrook Fox and Mary Jacqueline McGann Fox; father-in-law, Herman Cubbage Brown; and sister-in-law, Judith Daspher Fox. Marybrook is survived by her husband of 41 years, H. Cubbage Brown, Jr. of Dover; daughter, Kimberly Dawson, her husband Brian and their children Tucker, Aston and Chase of Barre, Mass.; son, Matthew Brown, his wife Lori and their daughter Morgan of Dover; daughter, Jennifer Surdukowski, her husband Kristoffer and their children Elizabeth, Logan, Sydney, Edison and Preston of Dover; and daughter, Caitlin Brown of Dover; three brothers, Stephen Fox of Annapolis, Md., Robert Fox and his wife Christine of Dover, and Randolph Fox and his wife Debbie of Dover; mother-in-law, Nancy Brown of Dover; brother-in-law, Dennis Brown and his wife Janet of Salisbury, Md.; and sister-in-law, Linda Tjaden and her husband Robert of Harrington. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave in Wyoming, and a service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 237 W. Lebanon Road in Dover, on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Coalition, 165 Commerce Way, Suite 2, Dover, DE 19904 and/or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
