MARYDEL - Mary Madeline Nechay, passed away Jan. 31, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on May 7, 1970. Mary was known for her ability to clean and interior decorating. She was passionate about decorating her mom's house for Christmas. She loved collecting family photos, collaging pictures, and making photo albums. She is preceded in death by her birth mother, Renee Melvin Cumens; sister, Christine Cumens; grandparents, Katherine and Frank McKinnon; grandparents, Kenneth and Francis Cumens; and uncle, Chuckie Melvin. She is survived by her parents, Sam and Sylvia Powell of Marydel; children, Kristopher and his wife Crystal; daughter, Paulaina Nechay; grandchildren, Gavin, Kristopher, Nathaniel, Dawuad and baby Nechay is on the way; five sisters, Francie and her husband Ken Powell, Sue Ellen Powell, Nikki Cumens and her husband Fred Mosley, Marlena and husband John Korona, and Heather Honey; and two brothers, Buffy and his wife Denise Madden and Sam Powell; uncle, Skeeter Melvin; and son, Skeet; aunt, Cookie Melvin; and daughter, Tracy Nye and husband Jim, and their children, Seven, Sideris, and Twyla; Chuck Melvin and son Chuckie III; aunt, Betty Anne and husband Tomy with son Matthew; aunt, Dawn Willey and husband Dan and Carla and Mike Tharp; Crystal and Dalton Moore. She was known as aunt MiMi to all of her nieces and nephews and they were as important to her as her own children, Brenda, Renee, Erik, Brianna, Justin, Casey, Sam, Heather, Alexis, Kaylynn, Dylan, Taylor, Jazzmine, Amira, Layla, Frey, Fred, Lil Bit, Kate and Keyah; and two great nieces, Jessie and Maddie and many more cousins, family and friends. Services were held Feb. 5, 2013. The family requests donations to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
