LAUREL - Mary M. Lewis, age 91, of Laurel, died on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009. Mrs. Lewis was born in Laurel, the daughter of the Late Charles and Mary Betts. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow, and Milton Betts; and a sister, Ruth Boyce. She retired from Wilmington Trust in 1981. Her husband, Whitley S. Lewis died in 1970. She is survived by her son, Don Lewis of Seaford; her daughter, Loraine Lewis of Seaford; daughter-in-law, Ann Lewis; grandchildren, Amy Gambrill, Donny Gambrill, Trisa Dicus, Tanya Humes, Tamela Anderson; great- grandchildren, Carrie Gambrill, Logan Warren and Madeline Dicus, Brian and Wesley Humes, and Nick and Allison Anderson; and two sisters, Margaret Conaway, and Annabelle Hignutt. Mary is also survived by nieces and nephews, Donna Layfield, Marie Whaley, Barbara Adams, Joe Boyce, Carolyn Truitt, Joan Byrd, Linda Breakfield, Charlotte Robby, Dennis Hignutt, Gregory Hignutt, Wayne Hignutt, and Michele Goodwin. Graveside Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1138 Parsons Rd, Salisbury, MD 21801. Arrangements by the Cranston Funeral Home, Seaford.
