Mary Jane Catlin

LEWES, Del. - Mary Jane Catlin, 84, of Lewes, and formerly of Laurel, Md., and Crisfield, Md., died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at her home. Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late Linwood and Elsie Wilson. A graduate of Crisfield High School, she traveled extensively with her husband during his service in the Army for 31 years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Crisfield, Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Crisfield, Pythians Sisters Organization in Laurel, MD, and Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially going to the beach and viewing wildlife. She loved to help people and was a wonderful person inside and out. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Rupert W. "Bill" Catlin of Lewes; her son, William Dennis "Bill" Catlin of Bowie, Md.; two granddaughters, Paige Catlin and Candie Catlin, both of Annapolis, Md.; and a cousin, Nancy Banfield of Florida. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cullen Wilson. A graveside funeral service and interment was held Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyridge Memorial Park, St. Peter's Church Road, Crisfield, Md. Pastor Charles "Chuck" Jacobson officiated.
