CAMBRIDGE - Mary Emma Marie Hollis Fisher, 73, died on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, after a relatively brief illness.

Born in Vienna, on Jan. 14, 1934, the daughter of the late Eli Boss Hollis and the late Millie Pinkett Hollis, she attended schools in Dorchester County and graduated from Frederick Douglass St. Clair High School in Cambridge in 1952.

On Dec. 31, 1952, she was united in holy matrimony to Montro Fisher Sr., of Cambridge, and together they raised a family of six children. They remained married until his death in 1986.

After raising her family, she became employed in the manufacturing and retail industries: first in the Rob Roy Sewing Factory, followed by the A & P Grocery Store, Hubbard's Pharmacy and, for the last 10 years, as a Sales Associate at Wal-Mart Center in Cambridge.

Marie Fisher was an active member of John Wesley Methodist Church in Vienna during her childhood and, later in adulthood, of Bethel AME Church for a number of years. She had a soprano voice and sang in the F. J. West Ensemble. She was also a member of the Usher Board at Bethel Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and five of her six siblings: William Harvey Molock (1985), Elizabeth Jones (1996), and Inez Hollis (two months ago in 2007), all of Baltimore; Burney Hollis Sr. (2003) of Vienna; and Selena Pinder (2004) of Linkwood.

Survivors include her six children: Pamela Fisher, Montro Fisher Jr., Monica Fisher, Twanna Fisher, Ray Fisher and Domonique Fisher, all of Cambridge; one sister, Valerie Demby of Cambridge; 10 grandchildren, DeAndre Manokey, Montro Fisher III, Nytia Keene, Latoya Jenkins, Keyna Fisher, Joshua Fisher, Cierra Fisher, Kendra Fisher, Dabari Fisher, and De-Ajia Fisher; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, at Bethel AME Church, 623 Pine St., in Cambridge. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. There will be a public viewing Friday 6-8 pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge.
