Mary Elizabeth Thomas

CRISFIELD - Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Thomas, 64, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at her home. Born in Crisfield, on Oct. 29, 1946, she was a daughter of R. Walton "Walt" Thomas of Crisfield and the late Ida Marie Christy Thomas who died in 1980. Libby attended Sarah M. Peyton School for 10 years and was a life-long member of the Crisfield Church of God. She loved attending Vacation Bible School and was proud of the plaque she received for 19 years participation in Golden Harvest. Libby also enjoyed fishing, traveling to the mountains, crafts and cooking, especially fried chicken. She truly loved everybody, and they loved her. She is survived by her devoted father, Robert Walton "Walt" Thomas; six sisters, Rachel Matthews, Lillian Adams, Jeanne Pruitt, Sharron Gaines, Barbara Dougherty and Margaret Mullennax; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Along with her mother, she was preceded in deth by her brother, Robert Walton Thomas, Jr. Funeral services officiated by the Rev.'s LeBron Palmer and Harvey Tyler were held Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at the Crisfield Church of God. Interment followed in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Crisfield Church of God Vacation Bible School, 134 Maryland Avenue, Crisfield, MD 21817.
