Mary Elizabeth Dashiell Carey

CRISFIELD - Mary Elizabeth Dashiell Carey, 64, of Crisfield, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield. She was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Middle River and was raised in Kingston. She was a daughter of the late Alfred Turpin Dashiell and Ruth Lurline Wilson Dashiell. She attended Marion High School and enjoyed reading and crocheting. She is survived by her son, Robert Vance Carey of Crisfield; a granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Carey; a brother, Alfred Thomas Dashiell and his wife Sharon of Hernando, Mississippi; a sister, Suzanne Ford and her husband Donald of Marion; her former husband, John Cleveland Carey of Crisfield; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Cleveland Carey on Aug. 11, 1990. A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the gravesite of her son in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406, Crisfield, MD 21817.
