Elliott, 87 LAUREL - Marshall Thomas Elliott went home to be with Jesus on a bright sunny Sunday morning, Nov. 18, 2012. Marshall was born on June 26, 1925 to the late B. Thomas and Bessie Adams Elliott. Marshall was a farmer and especially enjoyed raising his goats. In the early years, he worked for L.B. Brittingham. He was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Delaware Farm Bureau. As a youth he attended the Sycamore School. In addition to his parents, he waspredeceased by brothers, William, Calhoun, Melvin; and sisters, Anna Elliott Scott and Madelyn Elliott. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of 68 years, Blanche Dukes Elliott; one daughter, Marlene Elliott Brown and her husband, Jim; brothers, Laurence Edwin and David of Laurel; sister, Lena Short of Georgetown; grandson, Michael Brown and his wife, Tanya; three great-grandchildren, Mia, Abi, and Aaron; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memory many others who were like children and grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Nov. 21, 2012, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West St. Laurel, DE. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church Philips Hill Road Laurel, were a viewing will also be held from 12 to 1 p.m. The Rev. Julie Lewis and Rev. Jim Scott will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Online condolences can be made to the family by visiting, www.hsdfuneralhome.com.
