DOVER — Both legs of the Delaware Marijuana Control Act will be considered by the Senate Health & Social Services Committee on Wednesday.
House bills 1 and 2, sponsored by Rep. Ed Osienski, D-Newark, would legalize and remove penalties for personal use quantities of marijuana and establish a regulated retail marijuana market, respectively.
Each bill passed the House of Representatives for the first time last week. Previous iterations of the legislation failed in 2022, as the regulation component came up one vote short in the House, and Gov. John Carney vetoed the legalization piece.
The meeting, to begin at 10 a.m., will be held in the Senate chamber and can be accessed via livestream at legis.delaware.gov.
