Margaret Clifton

Prettyman" Clifton, 80 CAMDEN - Margaret "Peggy Prettyman" Clifton, passed away at home, in the loving presence of her family on Sept. 7, 2012. She was born on March 13, 1932 to the late Carl B. and Eugenia H. Prettyman of Harbeson, Del. Mrs. Clifton graduated from Georgetown High School, a member of the class of 1951. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Donald C. Clifton; and her sisters, Norma Prettyman Moore, and Ann Wagner. She is survived by two daughters, Carlyn S. Whiteknight, and her husband Michael, of Newark, Del., and Karen A. McConnell, and her husband, Randy, of Camden, Del.; one son, Ronald C. Clifton, and his wife, Lunda Cox-Clifton, of Dover, Del. ; her sister, Lois Prettyman ,of Newport, N.C.; five grandchildren, Shawn Christopher Kauffman, Ryan Scott McConnell, Jennifer Lynn McConnell, Aaron Michael Whiteknight, and Katie Rose Whiteknight; as well as a host of friends. A gathering of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the home of Karen McConnell. Services will be private.
