DOVER - Margaret Ann Malkiewicz DeNardi passed away Friday, Dec.12, 2014 at Kent General Hospital, with her loving family beside her. Margaret was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Scotland to the late Robert Hastings and Margaret Murray Hastings. The love of Margaret's life was her family, to include her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, baking her desserts, and visiting her home town of Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. Margaret worked at Boaman's Gift Shop as a clerk and was for many years a volunteer with the Dover Air Force Base Officers Wives Club. She attended Holy Cross Church since 1955, was a former member of the Ladies' Sodality, and often volunteered at the church's convent and school. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband USAF Major Joseph E. Malkiewicz, and son Terrance. She was also preceded by brothers Archie, William, Ivy, Scottie and Hugh, and her sister Jenny, all of Canada. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, C. Bernard "Ted" DeNardi of Dover; children Michael Malkiewicz and his partner Dot Allen of Dover, Del., Mary Jo Harris and her husband Ira of Salisbury, Md., Stanley Malkiewicz and his wife Carla of Conroe, Texas, Steven Malkiewicz and his wife Phyllis of Virginia, and Margaret Ann Kellenberger of Dover; sister Betty Bain and brothers, Art, Dave and Bud Hastings, all of Canada; grandchildren, Tom, Christine, David, Scott, Jennifer, Amy, Ryan, Jason, Joe and Maggie; and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, Delaware 19901. Friends are invited to visit on Saturday, Dec., 20, 2014 between 10 and 11 a.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, Del. 19904. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Margaret's specific request, was that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Holy Cross Food Pantry, 631 S.
