DOVER - Margaret Alice (Maillet) Bouchard of Dover died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 87.
Born in Hartford, Conn., on Nov. 9, 1920, daughter of Percy and Gladys (Brown) Maillet, she was raised in Hartford and graduated from Buckley High School in 1938.
Margaret was employed by the former C.T. General Life Insurance Co., Hartford, starting in 1938 and transferred to their Washington, D.C., office in 1948.
She was then employed from 1951 to 1955 at the Washington, D.C., office of the Travelers Insurance Co., and had been a resident of Dover since 1959.
She was a real estate investor in the Dover area during the 1980s and 1990s and was a very active member of the Modern Maturity Senior Center, Dover, for many years.
Margaret was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Charlotte Maillet and Paul Maillet.
She is survived by her son, William P. Bouchard of New Castle; four sisters, Barbara Gasparini and her husband Richard of West Hartford, Mary Dunphy and her husband Warren of North Branford, Conn., Anne (Manning) Liebler and her husband Richard of Melbourne, Fla., and Florence Maillet of Hartford; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services and burial will be Saturday in Connecticut.
A time of remembrance will be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover.
Contributions may be in Margaret's name to the Modern Maturity Center, Dover.
