DOVER - Margaret A. Grinstead passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 in Dover. Margaret was born December 7, 1931 in Dagenham, England.
Margaret was primarily a homemaker and mother to her four sons. She previously worked at the Bank of England and the Base Exchange at DAFB, DE. Over the years, she enjoyed swimming, playing Scrabble, knitting, sewing, drinking many hot cups of tea, and spending time with her family and friends. She was very active volunteering in the Dover community and was a member of the British Wives Club, the Modern Maturity Center and Holy Cross Church. Margaret was a loving and much-loved mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Carroll C. Grinstead in 1988; and two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, John Grinstead and his wife, Janne, of Dover; her son, Gary Grinstead and his wife, Nancy Dean, of Savannah, Ga.; her son, David Grinstead and his wife, Cathy, of Newark, Del.; and her son, Alan Grinstead, of Dover; three granddaughters, Caitlin Allen and her husband, Tim, of Middletown, Del., Marissa Grinstead of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Laura Grinstead of Easton, Pa.; and a brother, John Murray and his wife, Alida, of Durban, South Africa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at The Church of The Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover. Interment will follow at 1 p.m, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, 35 Rising Sun Road, Camden, DE 19934. A visitation for Margaret will be at The Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901, on Monday, December 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
