Man wounded, arrest made in Dover shooting

DOVER - Aaron Grimes, 22, of Magnolia, was arrested following a shooting on North West Street Monday at 3:31 p.m., Dover Police said.

A 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh, spokesperson Cpl. Schmid said. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers responded to the area after a shots fired report and found the wounded man and a large crowd, police said. Police said Mr. Grimes was determined to have discharged the firearm that caused the injury.

No other injuries were reported.

Mr. Grimes was taken into custody at the scene without incident. Police said no firearm has been recovered.

Mr. Grimes was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and second-degree assault. He was released on $22,000 unsecured bond.
