DAGSBORO — Delaware State Police identified the pedestrian who died in a fatal crash Monday in Dagsboro as Smith Florestal, 21, of Seaford.

According to DSP spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper, Mr. Florestal exited his vehicle — which was parked on the southbound shoulder of U.S. 113 for unknown reasons — walked into a travel lane and was struck by another vehicle at approximately 10:02 p.m. He was wearing dark-colored clothing and was not using a light, police said.

Mr. Florestal was transported by helicopter to ChristianaCare, Newark, where he was pronounced dead.

The Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate, and DSP asked anyone with information to contact Cpl. K. Argo at 644-5020.
