MAGNOLIA — A 22-year-old Pennsylvania man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday, Delaware State Police Sgt. India Sturgis said.

She said the victim was operating a Honda motorcycle at a high speed on Bay Road, south of Trap Shooters Road, when its tire struck the rear bumper of a GMC SUV at approximately 1:32 a.m.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Identification is pending notification of kin.

The GMC’s driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Alcohol or drug usage is not suspected as a factor, Sgt. Sturgis said.

The road was closed for approximately three hours. The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate, and troopers ask witnesses to contact Cpl./3 J. Lane at 302-698-8457 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333.
