MAGNOLIA — A 26-year-old Magnolia man was arrested Thursday after allegedly shooting at his neighbors with a BB gun, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

According to authorities, troopers were dispatched to a residence on Lambert Drive at approximately 5:40 p.m. Police determined that a group of juveniles were engaged in a verbal argument with Keith Rawding as they were riding their bikes past his residence.

During the confrontation, according to police, Mr. Rawding allegedly retrieved a BB gun from his residence and fired multiple rounds at the juveniles. When the two juveniles returned to their home on Lambert Drive, they informed their father, who responded to Mr. Rawding’s residence and confronted him, police said.

During the confrontation, the father threw numerous rocks, striking Mr. Rawding, who then began firing at the father, striking him in his back and causing a minor injury, police said. The juveniles and Mr. Rawding did not require medical attention.

Mr. Rawding was charged with second-degree assault, three counts of aggravated menacing and two counts of reckless endangering. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2, Rehoboth Beach, and released on a $30,000 unsecured bond.

The father was charged with offensive touching and released on his own recognizance.
