Mack S. Crawford

WOODSIDE - Mack S. Crawford passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 2, 1933 in Ben Lomond, Arkansas to the late George Thomas Crawford and Roberta Mae Mize Crawford, where he was the last of 13 children. He served in the United States Air Force and retired after 28 years, as a SMSgt Load Master at the Dover Air Force Base. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his service he received the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal and the Air Medal. After the service he owned and operator M.S. Crawford Trucking in Dover for 14 years. He was a member of the VFW in Camden/Wyoming, and the Vietnam Vets of America. Mr. Crawford enjoyed, fishing, camping, traveling and loved to go to Hawaii. His grandchildren were his biggest joy. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Mack Crawford of Woodside; daughters, Tamyra Roberts of S. Charleston, Ohio, Yvonne Hardy and her husband Allen of Simpsonville, S.C.; grandchildren, Joshua and Bradley Roberts, Chelsea and Shelby Holland and Allen Mack Hardy. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at Torbert funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 55 Nanticoke Drive, Dover, DE 19904 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Del. 19963.
