Lydia W. Nichols

Lydia W. Nichols GRASONVILLE - Lydia W. Nichols, 95, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Heartland House in Grasonville. She was born in Cambridge on May 12, 1913 and was a daughter of the late Nathan and Caroline Fauth Westbrook. Mrs. Nichols attended schools in Dorchester County. She lived on the family farm on Chateau Road for years. Mrs. Nichols had worked at Rob Roy. She was married to the Isaac Nichols. He passed away on July 19, 1984. Mrs. Nichols enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and visiting with her family. She was a member of Chateau Community Church where she served as Sunday school superintendent, a lifetime honorary member of the Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Company and the International Ladies Garment Union. She is survived by five grandchildren, Aaron Harmon of Cambridge, Craig Harmon of Ross Neck, Penny Doty of Cambridge, Philip Nichols of Cambridge and Terry Nichols of Cambridge; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Westbrook of Kent Island and a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Jean Nichols. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Harmon; a son, Larry Nichols; a brother, Sonny Westbrook and a sister, Elisa Skyler. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A in Cambridge with the Rev. Pardee Bramble officiating. Burial will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Aaron Harmon, Craig Harmon, Philip Nichols, Brandon Harmon, Jason Doty and Ryan Harmon. Honorary pallbearer will be Lake Nichols. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Chateau Community Church, c/o Nancy Coates, 3981 Ocean Gateway, Linkwood, MD 21835 or to Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
