MAGNOLIA - Lucille M. Greene, 94, of Magnolia, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Atlantic Shore Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro. She was born in Winooski, Vt., the daughter of the late Oliver Lacasse and Nora Blair. She was raised on a dairy farm being one of twelve siblings and was preceded in death by her late husband Edward A. Greene and a granddaughter Ruth Elaine Pugh. Mrs. Green worked as Rosey Rivetor during WW II. Throughout her life, she waited tables for over 60 + years and was a manager of the Boston Store in Utica, N.Y. Years ago she made 80 fruitcakes and distributed them all over, hence, receiving the nickname of "The Fruit Cake Lady." After her retirement, she joined McDonalds as a biscuit maker. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Helen Pugh; one son, Harold D. Perham; four siblings, Albert, Margarite, Francis and Catherine; four grandchildren, Sharon and her husband Mark Himes, Eric T. Pugh, Deborah Smith, and Tiffany Truitt and her husband Chase; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St. Milford, where friends may call from for 10 to 11 a.m. for a viewing. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
