Szczepanski 'Chuck', 60 DOVER - Lucian K. Szczepanski 'Chuck' passed away peacefully on Sunday Jan. 27, 2013, at his home. Born in Wilmington, Del. on June 25, 1952, he was the son of the late Mieczyslaw Ignacy Szczepanski and the late Teresa (Neuwiem) Szczepanski. He was a graduate of Delcastle Technical School and was active as a businessman and entrepreneur for his professional life. At the time of his passing, he served as the sole proprietor of Riteway Distributors with several retail outlets and multiple real estate holdings. He was active in his business despite an accident in December of 2004 that left him a quadriplegic. Prior to his accident, he was an avid golfer, often enjoying rounds at the Maple Dale Country Club near his home. He was also an intrepid traveler, enjoying many trips to the Caribbean, Florida and Las Vegas. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son Charles M. Szczepanski of Milford and his wife Lauren; their children, Michael, Christopher, Nicholas, Mathew, Nathaniel, and Gabriel; a daughter Teresa L. Waddell of Seaford and her husband Bill; their children, Calista and Liam; and son Howard J. Szczepanski of Texas and his wife Tammy; their children Becca, Marreck, and Ryan, and a granddaughter Talia Pyle and her two children, in addition, he leaves behind a long time friend, Sharon Holloway and his bird Gizmo. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Szczepanski of Laurel; sister, Nancy Alexander; and sister Teresa Hiatt and her husband James, from Florida. Services will be held 1 p.m Friday Feb. 1, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
