TAYLORS BRIDGE - Louise H. "Weezie" Dukes, age 87 of Taylors Bridge, passed away at her home on June 29, 2015 in the care of her loving caregiver, Theresa. Mrs. Dukes was born on July 26, 1927 in New Castle, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Myrtle Lillie Lynch Howard. After her mother's passing, she was raised by her grandmother, Luella M. Powell. She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching her "Soapies". She also enjoyed "antiquing" with friends over the years and most particularly her trips every Wednesday to Crumpton, where she gathered her treasures. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a long time supporter of Ducks Unlimited. She was also a regular supporter and attended most all Smyrna High School wrestling matches. Her favorite time of the year was the month of July when she would go to the Poconos which she and Jack had done for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dukes; her daughter, Michelle Underwood; and her brother, Charles Howard. She is survived by her son, Neal Dukes and his wife Sandy of Taylors Bridge; her grandchildren, Joshua Underwood and his wife Angela, Andrew and Eric Underwood, Kaila, Katlyn and Brody Dukes and Jennifer Marsh; and two great grandchildren, Jaclyn and Thomas Underwood. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, located at 20 W. Mt. Vernon St. in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution to Asbury United Methodist Church, 20 W. Mt. Vernon St., Smyrna, DE 19977 or The Taylors Bridge Community Center, in care of James Reynolds, 944 Eagles Nest Rd., Townsend, DE 19734 or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., S-100, Wilmington, DE 19810.
