Morris Ruthford, 89 MILLSBORO - Louise Emily Henry Morris Rutherford, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Thursday, Sept. 6th, 2012, with family at her side. She was admired by many for her courage, strength, and love for life. Louise was a graduate of Laurel High School, and greatly enjoyed attending her high school reunions throughout the years. She began working at Diamond State Telephone, now known as Verizon, in 1941 as an operator where she earned numerous promotions and held various tittles. She retired in 1981 as a Supervisor after 40 years of service, and kept in touch with many colleagues and friends through her involvement with the Telephone Pioneer Group. She was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro, where the congregation will fondly remember her style and love for hats. She was proud to be a part of many small Church groups where she shared her compassion with all the people she met. Louise greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends during weekly card games, dinners, and after Church luncheons at local restaurants. Some of her happiest moments were spent in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Born in Portsville, Del., Louise was the daughter of George and Sally Henry. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by her siblings, Smith, Irmina and Arthur; as well as her first husband, Joseph Morris; and her second husband, William Rutherford. She is survived by her daughter, Gail McInerney of Newark, Del.; her son, Gary Morris of Fort Collins, Colo.; step-daughters, Carol Wilson of Townsend, Del., Leslie Collins of Bear, Del.; and her youngest brother Ronald Henry of Laurel, Del. Her loving memories will continue to be cherished by her six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren, ten step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 22nd at noon at the Grace U.M. Church in Millsboro, Del. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Grace U.M. Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 566, Millsboro, DE 19966. Letters of Condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com
