Donald Trump’s plan A is suddenly falling apart. He has been totally and obviously outsmarted by, of all things, what he describes as an “incompetent,” “nasty” Black woman in cahoots with a “sleepy” old man, who is an ex-school lunchroom monitor/football coach from Minnesota. Can it get any worse? A normal person would accept this unusual concurrence of events, adapt and move on. But, in Trump’s mind, such a thing couldn’t happen, and therefore, there is no need for him to change tactics. So, whether he realizes it or not, he has suddenly been placed in the proverbial ditch, and his only thought is to “double down,” i.e., keep digging.
We can see this same mindset at work in the way Kamala Harris is getting into Trump’s head in the adulation-and-numbers department. In his addled mind, the only thing that really matters is adulation from crowds, crowds that only he can attract. Therefore, the possibility of a large crowd adoring his opponent is inconceivable and, therefore, impossible. So, his response, predictably, is to imagine the crowd out of existence. Kamala must be using artificial intelligence to generate her crowd numbers (pretty smart for a lady who he has called “dumb as a rock”).
This is the guy who is just one election away from becoming a dictator/tyrant, after which real elections will cease. The critical question is: Does the vast majority care enough to vote against him and his sycophants in Congress? His presence is the funnel cloud that should scare us into the shelter. So, Google “Malignant Narcissist” and educate all your friends and neighbors who will listen and motivate them to vote. The polling place is the only shelter that matters when the life of our democracy is at stake.
