MILFORD - Lois E. Divel of Milford passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 82.
Mrs. Divel was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Nottingham, England, daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (King) Pick.
She moved to the United States in May 1947.
Mrs. Divel was in advertising services with the Milford Chronicle until she retired.
She was an accomplished seamstress and actress.
Mrs. Divel was actively involved with the Community Singers, Singing Players and the Theatre Guild in Dover and regularly performed at the Club Bimbo in Dover.
Mrs. Divel loved animals and her favorite pastime was spending hours at the beach with her grandsons and great-grandson.
She was a member and past president of the British Wives Club, a member of the Harrington Senior Center and a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge 534.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ivan Pick.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James M. Divel; a son and daughter-in-law, Glen M. and Karen Divel of Houston; a daughter, Anita Eastman of Selbyville; a sister, Jean Deakin of Nottingham; three grandchildren, Christine daCosta and her husband George, Paul Divel and Christopher Divel; and one great-grandson, Matthew daCosta.
Friends may call from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where a funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m.
A service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives may send memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
