Padua tallied the game’s first three goals before downing Smyrna High, 3-1, in a girls’ soccer matchup on Tuesday evening.
The contest was a rematch of last year’s DIAA Division I state title game, which the Pandas won, 2-1.
Padua, whose only two losses this year are to Virginia schools, improved to 7-2. Haley Dougherty scored twice, with a goal in each half for the Pandas.
Leading 1-0 at halftime, Padua netted two quick goals in the first three minutes of the second half to take control.
The Eagles fell to 8-3 after having a three-game winning streak snapped. Dru Moffett scored in the 71st minute to break the shutout for Smyrna.
Wilm. Charter 3, Caesar Rodney 2: Maya Hogan’s overtime goal lifted the Force to the victory.
Charter (7-2-2) tied the contest in the 75th minute, as it outshot the Riders, 11-7.
Allyson Durham tallied a goal in each half for CR (9-3).
Delmarva Christian 2, Laurel 1: Mia Elliott scored two goals in the final 34 minutes to lift the Royals.
Goalie Vanessa Pierre-Louis made six saves as Delmarva Christian out-shot Laurel, 13-7.
Indian River 9, Milford 0: Bella Scurci netted four goals with Sophia Scurci adding three goals and an assist in the Indians’ victory.
Alexandria Davidson made three saves for IR, which held advantages of 23-3 in shots and 11-1 in corner kicks.
Woodbridge 12, Seaford 1: Bethany Knutsen netted five goals and a pair of assists while Bethany Villalobos-Gutierrez added three goals in the Blue Raiders’ South victory.
Martina Ambrosino scored for the Blue Jays.
Caravel 5, Sussex Tech 0: Ebony Wilson made 11 saves for the Ravens, who were out-shot, 16-3.

Laurel 3, Lake Forest 0: Sophomore Kylee Hill threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts in the Bulldogs’ South win.
Peyton Givans had two of Laurel’s six hits. The Bulldogs scored twice in the first inning.
Caesar Rodney 2, Smyrna 0: Peyton Shields pitched a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Riders earned the North shutout.
CR had only one hit — a solo home run from Ashlyn Schmidt in the third.
Cimone Edge, who got only the first out, and Makayla Brantley combined to throw the one-hitter for the Eagles.
Polytech 13, Cape Henlopen 11: The Panthers rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to take the North victory.
Julia MacConnell (3 RBI) homered and doubled for Polytech while Rachel Carey had a pair of doubles and five RBI. Pitcher Mara Everton struck out eight.
Alivia Heers, Jay’Lyn Slater and Abigail Marsh all hit home runs for Cape.
Sussex Central 2, Sussex Tech 1: Madge Layfield pitched a four-hitter in a game that was decided on Mya Jones’ bases-loaded walk in the eighth.
Hailey Justice threw a two-hitter for the Ravens.
Milford 8, Dover 6: The Buccaneers topped the Senators in a North matchup.
Delmar 16, Sussex Academy 5: Zoey Coco went 5-for-5 to pace the Wildcats’ 20-hit attack.
Emily Smith added three hits while Ally Marly and Josie Hollamon both homered.
The Seahawks’ Carson Gesuero, Sophie Noon, and Madison Taylor got multiple hits.
Indian River 16, Early College 0: The Indians, who beat Newark Charter 3-1 on Monday, improved to 10-4 with their second win in as many days.

Smyrna 11, Caesar Rodney 6: Dylan Wiley had a homer, double and four RBI as the Eagles posted the Henlopen North win.
Winning pitcher Jake Macey allowed four runs in five innings while Derek Davis had two hits and two RBI.
The Riders’ Chrys Roscoe, Jaxson Monroney, Mason Wrede, and Colson Bennett all had two hits.
Cape Henlopen 18, Polytech 1: Josh Reinhold drove in five runs while Luke Crouch hit a grand slam for the Vikings, who capped off their 11th straight win with 10 runs in the fourth.
The Panthers’ Brett Shelton-Hoskins had a hit and scored a run.
Sussex Central 3, Sussex Tech 2: Reif Steen singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Golden Knights the North win.
Brenden Anderson allowed only three hits and a pair of first-inning runs to take the win.
Grant Allen threw a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Sussex Tech while Rosnell Lewis had two hits.
Laurel 6, Lake Forest 3: The Bulldogs scored three runs in the top of the eighth to pull out the South win.
Pitcher Tim Jones struck out 10 in six innings with Brady Lee collecting three hits and a pair of RBI. Both teams score a run in the seventh to send the game into extra innings.
For the Spartans, Rhett Robbins had two hits with T.J. Hooks contributing a two-run double.
Woodbridge 13, Seaford 1: The Blue Raiders scored five runs in the first and seven runs in the seventh to bookend the South victory.
Winning pitcher Seth Smart struck out five in five innings while Samuel Schroeder, Cooper Andrews, and Lextyn Wescott all had two hits.
Jude Dean and Ashton Trivits had two hits apiece for the Blue Jays.
Delmar 6, Sussex Academy 4: The Wildcats topped the Seahawks to pick up a South win.
Tatnall 6, First State Military 3: Steven Bright had three hits for the Bulldogs.
Girls’ lacrosse
Newark Charter 15, Smyrna 9: Regan Nacrelli tallied four goals and Addison Beamer made 15 saves in the Eagles’ loss.
Polytech 11, St. Andrews 5: The Panthers out-scored the Cardinals, 8-1, in the second half to overcome a one-goal halftime deficit.
Elizabeth Szell netted five goals with Molly Kenney adding four.
Boys’ lacrosse
Salesianum 13, Cape Henlopen 11: Hank D’Ambrogi collected three goals and four assists for the Vikings in the loss.
C.J. Fritchman won 13 of 23 faceoffs while Evan Erhardt made 12 saves for Cape, which out-shot Sallies, 30-27. The Sals led 8-5 at halftime.
First State Military 17, Woodbridge 7: The Bulldogs improved to 6-4 with their fifth victory in the last six games.

Hens’ Lee gets NFL invite: Delaware running back Dejoun Lee has earned an invitation to attend rookie minicamp with the Washington Commanders.
Lee will participate in camp this weekend, May 6-8. Lee was an All-CAA second-team selection this past fall after ranking fourth in the conference with 4.6 yards per carry and 74.0 yards per game.
