Sussex Academy outscored Dover by eight in the second half to pull away to a 19-8 victory over the Senators in Henlopen Conference girls’ lacrosse on Wednesday night.
Macy Steinwedel tallied five goals for the Seahawks (9-1), who won their fourth game in a row.
Madison Leeper (2 assists), Sanne Elling (2 assists) and Lilian Manlove all added three goals for Sussex Academy, which led 9-6 at halftime. Addison Basile added two goals and six assists with Peyton Hagy making 11 saves.
The Seahawks outshot Dover, 36-18,
For the Senators, Superia Clark scored four goals, Kyleigh Dill (1 assist) and Ashtyn Torbert both scored twice and Shaina Hall-Carter made 13 saves.
Smyrna 16, Lake Forest 4: Regan Nacrelli (1 assist) netted four goals with Madison Filo adding three in the Eagles’ conference win.
Seven players scored goals for Smyrna.
Emma Massey (1 assist) and Brianna Hammond both scored twice for the Spartans.
Milford 12, Indian River 11: The Buccaneers jumped out to an 11-4 halftime lead before holding off the Indians.
Kylie Harris tallied eight goals for IR with Caylee Schmidt making four saves.
Worcester Prep, Md. 19, Sussex Tech 2: Worcester built a 12-goal lead by halftime before posting the win.
Boys’ lacrosse
Cape Henlopen 19, Caesar Rodney 3: The Vikings improved to 7-1 with the Henlopen North victory.
It was the sixth time this season Cape has tallied 19 or more goals in a game.
Polytech 7, Sussex Tech 1: The Panthers won their third game in a row to even their record at 4-4.
Dover 12, Milford 4: The Senators won their third straight game to raise their record to 5-5.
Baseball
Caesar Rodney 13, Seaford 2: The Riders scored five runs in both the second and sixth innings to finish off the win.
Tate Wisniewski scattered eight hits without allowing an earned run while Cam Lawson had two hits, with a double, and two RBI.
The Blue Jays’ Dalton Hignutt and June Dean had two hits apiece.
Sussex Tech 7, Milford 0: Grant Allen threw a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts to earn the shutout for the Ravens.
Sussex Tech had nine doubles among its 14 hits, including two each from Zane Adams and Carson Mears. The Ravens used a three-run third to break a scoreless tie.
Ryan Mejia doubled for the Buccaneers.
Laurel 6, Sussex Academy 1: Ryan Jones pitched a two-hitter for the Bulldogs in the Henlopen South win on Tuesday.
Softball
Lake Forest 6, Smyrna 2: The Spartans took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the first.
Karly Cain had a pair of hits for Lake Forest while Carah Sumpter struck out six with no walks in earning the win.
Makayla Brantley pitched a four-hitter and had two hits for the Eagles.
Sussex Central 7, Lake Forest 4: Kate Evick hit a pair of home runs among her three hits to pace the Golden Knights.
Mya Jones, who had two doubles, also had three hits for Central, which scored four runs in the third to break a 1-1 tie.
Lake Forest’s Carley Sumpter and Kayla Tilghman had two hits.
Milford 12, Seaford 9: Ashley Bullock, Lauren Dickerson and winning pitcher Khyliah Reynolds all contributed three hits to the Buccaneers’ total of 17 in the win.
The Blue Jays got multiple hits from Sea Cooper and Cameron Knowles.
Girls’ soccer
Lake Forest 2, Red Lion 2: Lacey Hutson scored twice and Brynn String assisted both goals in the Spartans’ tie.
Red Lion knotted the score on a goal in the 68th minute.
Boys’ volleyball
Indian River 3, Brandywine 0: The Indians picked up the victory by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-18.
Concord 3, Smyrna 0: The Raiders downed the Riders by scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-10.
