Dover High built an eight-point lead after three quarters before topping Conrad, 53-47, in non-conference girls’ basketball on Tuesday night.
Junior Heaven Robinson netted 27 points after sinking 13 of the Senators’ 22 total field goals.
The victory was the fifth in the last six games for Dover, which raised its record to 13-5. It’s the first time the Senators have won at least 13 games in a season since 2015.
Dover closes the regular season at Cape Henlopen on Friday.
Lake Forest 46, Sussex Tech 26: The Spartans jumped out to a 19-4 first-quarter advantage in the victory.
Seaford 57, Woodbridge 53: The Blue Jays built a 34-23 halftime lead before handing the Blue Raiders their first Henlopen South loss.
Cape Henlopen 52, Smyrna 20: The Vikings (14-4 overall) officially clinched their fourth straight Henlopen North title.
Morgan Mahoney (19 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks) and Mehkia Applewhite (12 points) paced Cape Henlopen to Tuesday’s win.
Laurel 66, Milford 18: The Bulldogs tallied 29 first-quarter points before earning the win.
Delaney Larrimore, who went 13-of-15 from the foul line, finished with 28 points. Carlie Venables added 18 points for Laurel with Ta’Layah Clark adding 10.
Caesar Rodney 44, Polytech 29: The Riders improved to 10-6 after picking up their second straight Henlopen North win on Monday.
Boys’ basketball
Woodbridge 61, Lake Forest 53: Kenny Newton netted 23 points to pace the Blue Raiders to the Henlopen South victory.
Emanual McCrea-Mosley (14 points), Bruce Mosley (13) and Ci-Attrick Stones (11) also scored in double figures for Woodbridge.
The Spartans were led by Jackson Starkey (16), Amir Cooper (13) and Darius Miller (12). Starkey and Miller sank four three-pointers apiece.
Caravel 54, Polytech 49: The Buccaneers out-scored the Panthers, 20-8, in the fourth quarter to rally for the non-conference victory.
Seaford 76, Laurel 54: The Blue Jays stretched their winning streak to eight games in a row.
College lacrosse
MEN, Delaware 12, St. Joseph’s 11: The Hawks closed within one with 2:28 remaining in the game, but Owen Grant caused a turnover with three seconds remaining on the clock to seal the win for the Blue Hens (3-0).
Clay Miller record his third consecutive hat trick to finish with a career-high five goals. Cam Acchione finished with three points (two goals and one assist), while Nick Jessen added a pair of goals.
College softball
Hens’ Frost earns CAA honor: Delaware softball left-handed pitcher Graceyn Frost has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week.
The former Delaware Military standout fired 10 innings in two appearances, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out nine. She posted a 1-0 record with one save and a 0.70 ERA.
College bowling
DSU’s Reardon honored by MEAC: Delaware State freshman Sydney Reardon was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week as well as Co-Bowler of the Week.
Reardon’s fourth-place finish at the James Brown Invitational was the highest placement by a MEAC rookie in the tournament. She knocked down a total of 1,077 pins on the weekend for an average of 215.40 per game.
Her highest score came in game one when she threw a 266. Reardon was also named to the James Brown Invitational All-Tournament team for her performance.
It was Reardon’s second top-10 finish this season and the first top-five finish of her rookie campaign.
College field hockey
UD pair earn academic honor: Delaware senior field hockey players Grace Hoepfner and Grace Miller of the were tabbed as NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction.
Hoepfner, an exercise science major, earns her third NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honor. She is also a four-time member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. Hoepfner started in all 22 games for the Blue Hens.
Miller, also an exercise science major, earns her fourth NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honor and is also a four-time member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
