Sussex Tech High scored four runs in the first three innings and then held off Lake Forest, 4-3, in Henlopen Conference baseball on Friday afternoon.
The Ravens, who led 4-0 in the top of the third inning, remained unbeaten at 10-0 overall.
Jonathan Stokley had two hits and an RBI as five Sussex Tech pitchers combined to throw a four-hitter.
Chase Killen doubled twice for the Spartans.
Polytech 14, Laurel 5: Trailing 3-0, the Panthers reeled off 14 unanswered runs to earn the victory.
Ocean Johnson had three of Polytech’s eight hits with a homerun and three RBI. Reliever Conner Barlett earned the victory.
The Bulldogs’ Kaden Shockley had a double.
Softball
Seaford 10, Milford 0: Jada Evans pitched a five-inning perfect game with 10 strikeouts for the Blue Jays while also going 3-for-3.
Lillie Larimore and Cameron Knowles both added two hits for Seaford, which scored five runs in the first.
Laurel 9, Smyrna 5: Winning pitcher Kylee Hill had four hits and four RBI to lead the Bulldogs.
Couri Smith added two hits while Ashlynn Ullman scored twice for Laurel, which led 5-4 before scoring three runs in the fifth.
Payton Dixon had three RBI for the Eagles.
Dover 11, Sussex Academy 0: Lea Martin went 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Senators, who finished off the game with a seven-run fourth.
Jamie Chandler added two RBI, Emma Crowe scored twice and winning pitcher Lexi Dowdy threw a five-inning one-hitter with six strikeouts.
Erin Carey had the lone hit for the Seahawks.
Sussex Tech 14, Lake Forest 0: Brynn Parker tossed a three-hitter to earn the shutout for the Ravens.
Karli Penrod, Kylie Krugar, Laniya Lewis and Megan Sterling all contributed two hits to Sussex Tech’s total of 11 hits.
Karly Cain, Jess Reed, and Rachel Brezezicki each had a hit for the Spartans.
Delmarva Christian 7, Padua 0: Lilliana Showacre pitched a one-hitter as the Royals blanked the Pandas.
Kandice Sclabach and Erin Parker both homered to pace Delmarva Christian’s 10-hit attack.
Woodbridge 21, First State Military 4: Harley Short had a homerun and triple and finished with six RBI for the Raiders.
Amiah Tucker and Hailee Smith tallied three hits each as Woodbridge finished with 13.
Paige Holowka had the Bulldogs’ two hits.
Girls’ lacrosse
Dover 14, Indian River 4: Superia Clark netted five goals and three assists in the Senators’ Henlopen Conference win.
Kyleigh Dill added four goals while Regan Torbert made six saves. Dover out-shot the Indians, 32-11.
Madeline Harris scored twice for the Indians, who got a combined 11 saves from Allyson Clark and Caylee Schmidt.
Caesar Rodney 18, Mt. Pleasant 5: Lyndsey Weller (2 assists) tallied four goals with Brianna Simpson and and Rylie Faircloth adding three apiece for the Riders.
Nine players scored for CR, which out-shot the Green Knights, 29-8.
Polytech 19, Lake Forest 3: Molly Kenney scored three goals to pace the Panthers.
Boys’ lacrosse
Caesar Rodney 12, Appoquinimink 7: Ryan Carey netted four goals and two assists for the Riders, who out-scored the Jaguars 6-3 in the second half.
Patrick Craig (3 assists) and Steven Grossman both scored twice while Jakob Buxton made nine saves.
Caravel 8, Polytech 6: The Buccaneers snapped the Panthers’ four-game winning streak by out-scoring Polytech, 4-2, in the second half.
Bret Nowakowski tallied three goals for Polytech with Sam Slater adding two. Aidan Stephan made 17 saves.
Woodbridge HS 17, Sussex Central 4: Michael Plummer netted 10 goals with Michael Brummell (1 assist) adding three as the Blue Raiders (1-5) posted their first win of the season.
Boys’ volleyball
Indian River 3, Dickinson 1: The Indians picked up the victory by scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-7, 25-9.
College softball
Hens split with Dragons: Delaware dropped the opener to Drexel, 9-0, before responding with a 4-2 victory in the nightcap.
Delaware (19-5 overall) remains in first place in the CAA North Division with a 9-4 record, while Drexel is one game back with a 7-4 mark. The Hens have also clinched a berth in the five-team CAA Tournament on May 12-15 at James Madison.
DSU blanked twice: Delaware State fell twice to Norfolk State on Friday, losing 4-0 and 6-0, in a MEAC North twinbill.
College baseball
UD swept by Huskies: Delaware by a combined two runs at Northeastern, dropping the first, 1-0, and the second, 6-5.
In the nightcap, a four-run eighth put the Blue Hens (4-6 CAA, 8-12 overall) up 5-4 before the Huskies rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning. Junior Jordan Hutchins (Dover) was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI while freshman Dom Velazquez (Dover) struck out nine and allowed only two earned runs in five innings.
Hornets drop two: Norfolk State combined for 17 runs and 22 hits, including four homers, in a 7-4, 10-6 sweep of Delaware State.
The Spartans (17-20, 13-5 MEAC) stretched its MEAC North lead to 3.5 games over Delaware State (11-16, 9-8 MEAC).
Marywood 6, Wesley 5: The Wolverines rallied for the game’s final five runs before falling short.
Justin Blunt and Sam Courtney (Dover) had two RBI apiece for Wesley.
