Sussex Central 42, Cape Henlopen 14: P.J. Henry rushed for a pair of touchdowns to pace the Golden Knights to a Class 3A, District II victory.
Sussex Central clinched a playoff spot with the win, improving to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the district.
Delmar 27, Indian River 25: A late rally came up short for the Indians as Delmar stopped a two-point conversion and recovered an onside kick in the final minute
The Wildcats led 20-7 at halftime before Indian River mounted its comeback. Dylan Grise connected with Rashad Hopkins for a touchdown with 40 seconds left but the Wildcats held onto the lead after a sack on the two-point conversion.
Woodbridge 14, Milford 0: The Blue Raiders earned a shutout in a Class 2A, District III matchup on Friday night to move to 2-5 overall.
Seaford 48, Early College 0: The Blue Jays moved to 6-1 overall after the shutout win on Friday.
Laurel 41, First State Military 6: The Bulldogs remained unbeaten at 7-0 overall after another victory in Class 1A.
Red Lion Christian 42, Sussex Tech 27: The Ravens dropped the Class 2A, Districtt III contest Friday to fall to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in district play.

Delmarva Christian 3, Ursuline 1: The Royals won their 13th contest in a row thanks to a 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-18 result against the Raiders on Friday.
Indian River 3, Sussex Academy 2: The Indians edged the Seahawks on Thursday night to capture the Henlopen South title.
Indian River won by scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-8 to improve to 5-0 in the South, 8-5 overall.
The Indians will face North champion Smyrna in the Henlopen Conference championship match on Oct. 29 at noon at Woodbridge High.

Dover 2, Seaford 1: Rolando Betancourt-Mejia scored on a penalty kick in the 74th minute to give the Senators the victory.
Tobias Crawford added a first-half goal with Alex Escalante-Diaz making 12 saves. Dover out-shot the Blue Jays, 12-2.
Seaford’s Isaias Morales Vidaurri tied the score in the 60th minute with Luke Metzner making 12 saves.
Wilmington Charter 4, Indian River 1: Jordan Illian tallied the lone goal for Indian River in a nonconference loss on Friday night.
Indian River 3, Sussex Tech 1: The Indians netted three second-half goals to rally from a 1-0 halftime deficit on Thursday.

Sussex Central 8, Delmarva Christian 1: The Golden Knights picked up the victory over the Royals on Thursday.
Caesar Rodney 8, Seaford 1: The Riders improved to 9-3 with their fourth straight win on Thursday.
Women’s field hockey
Delaware 3, Northeastern 2: Delaware 6-10, 4-1 CAA) picked up its fourth straight CAA win after an overtime shootout on Friday.
With the shootout tied at 2-2, Kiki Oudshoorn iced the game for the Blue Hens after striking the ball past an unbalanced Huskies goalkeeper.
Northeastern led 2-0 early but Delaware tied the game after goals from Berber Bakermans and Julia Duffhuis. Delmar High product Ashlyn Carr assisted on both goals.
Women’s soccer
Delaware State 1, Hampton 1: The Hornets played to a draw on senior night Friday.
Mackenzie Burns scored for Delaware State with 12 minutes to go before the Pirates equalized with three minutes remaining. Ashley Maribo tallied six saves for the Hornets.
