Polytech High out-scored Cape Henlopen by six in the fourth quarter to close out its 61-51 win over the Vikings in Henlopen North boys’ basketball on Thursday night.
The first-place Panthers built a 28-22 halftime advantage before improving to 7-0 in the North, 7-2 overall.
The Vikings (5-2 North, 7-3 overall) had a three-game winning streak broken. Polytech has won its last four meetings with Cape Henlopen.
Kyle Gamber netted 22 points after hitting six three-pointers for Polytech.
Jalen Anderson had 12 while Dorell Little and Xavier Brewington both scored 10.
Smyrna 50, Sussex Tech 45: The Eagles put together a 17-10 run in the fourth quarter to rally for the North win.
The win stopped a four-game losing streak for Smyrna.
Dover 84, Milford 66: The Senators were leading by only six at halftime before out-scoring the Buccaneers, 25-12, in the third quarter of the North victory.
Sussex Central 51, Caesar Rodney 50: In a game that was close throughout, the Golden Knights edged the Riders for a North win.
Clarence McBride-Allen (17), Jaron Cannon (16) and David Maker (13) all led Sussex Central.
Khalil Kemp had 17 for the Riders with Alexander Doughty adding 11.
Laurel 65, Lake Forest 45: The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 in the South, 7-2 overall with the win. The contest was tied when Laurel out-scored the Spartans, 18-8, in the second quarter.
Indian River 80, Sussex Academy 15: The Indians rolled to a decisive South win.
Delmarva Christian 63, Worcester Prep 54: The Royals out-scored Worcester, 14-5 in overtime to earn the victory.
Girls’ basketball
Smyrna 52, Sussex Tech 33: The Eagles out-scored the Ravens, 18-5, in the fourth quarter to break open a game that was tied at halftime.
Telaney Pierce netted 16 points for Smyrna, which won its third game in a row. Jayde Rivera (11) and Skylar Curley (10) also scored in double figures.
Akira Perry had 10 points for the Ravens.
Caesar Rodney 48, Sussex Central 14: Elianna Davis netted 14 points for the Riders, who snapped a six-game losing streak.
CR out-scored the Golden Knights, 27-4, in the second half.
Cape Henlopen 54, Polytech 42: The Vikings stayed unbeaten in the Henlopen North with the victory.
The Panthers were paced by Kallie Hopkins (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Sky Naranjo (10 points, 10 rebounds).
Dover 50, Milford 18: The Senators took a 47-9 lead into the fourth quarter of their North win.
Sara Ziona Benson had 14 with Ashtyn Torbert adding 12 points for Dover, which had 10 players score in the contest.
Laurel 49, Lake Forest 23: The Bulldogs out-scored the Spartans, 18-2, in the first quarter before picking up the South win.
Seaford 66, Delmar 55: The Blue Jays used a 19-6, first-quarter run to take control in the South win.
Woodbridge 80, Early College 17: The Blue Raiders led 52-11 by halftime of the Henlopen South matchup.
Reghan Robinson tallied a game-high 23 points for Woodbridge, which also got double-digit scoring from De’Asya Jones (15 points, 6 assists), Iyanna Mims (13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals), Payton Keeler (11 points, 6 assists) and Tianna Neal (10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals).

College football
Hens’ Plack transferring to UConn: Delaware football safety Noah Plack announced that he’s going to use his final year of eligibility at Connecticut.
Plack started 29 games with the Blue Hens, finishing with 269 tackles, 17 pass breakups, three interceptions and four forced fumbles. He was a first-team All-CAA pick this past winter after earning second-team honors twice.
